No-frills carrier SpiceJet ne Friday ko kaha ki company 23 July ko ek board meeting karegi jisme fresh capital raise karne ka decision qualified institutional placement (QIP) ke basis par liya jayega.

“… SpiceJet Ltd ke Board of Directors ki ek meeting 23 July, 2024 (Tuesday) ko hogi, jisme eligible securities ko qualified institutional buyers ko issue karke qualified institutional placement ke madhyam se fresh capital raise karne aur approve karne ka socha jayega…,” airline ne ek regulatory filing mein kaha.

January is saal, SpiceJet ko BSE se Rs 2,242-crore ka fund infusion ke liye in-principle approval mila tha aur preferential issue ke do tranches mein Rs 1,060 crore raise kiya tha.

Gurugram-based airline ne January-March quarter of 2023-24 ke liye standalone profit after tax (PAT) mein kai guna jump announce kiya hai, jo Rs 119 crore hai, pichle saal ke corresponding quarter ke Rs 16.85 crore PAT ke mukable.

Pura fiscal year 2023-24 ke liye, airline ne Rs 409.43 crore ka loss post kiya hai. FY23 mein isne Rs 1,503 crore ka loss report kiya tha.

December quarter ke liye, SpiceJet ne Rs 301.45 crore ka loss report kiya tha. SpiceJet ne FY23 mein Rs 106.82 crore ka profit post kiya tha.

Airline kayi quarters se afloat rehne ke liye struggle kar rahi hai aur reportedly January se apne 11,581 staff ka Employee Provident Fund Contributions deposit nahi kiya hai.

July 19 tak, 33 aircrafts — 15 Boeing 737 aur 18 regional jets Q400 — ground par the, kayi reasons ke karan, aircraft fleet tracking website planespotter.net ke anusaar.

SpiceJet ke paas total 60 planes hain, jisme 32 Boeing 737 aur 24 Q400 shaamil hain.
